Volunteers needed for internet-based weight loss intervention

Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s Christopher Sciamanna, M.D., is seeking volunteers to be part of a focus group to obtain feedback about an Internet-based weight loss intervention.

Volunteers for this research study must be overweight, be at least 21 years old, speak English, have access to the Internet, and not rely on home-delivered meals.

Participating will require attending a 90-minute group discussion at the Medical Center to gain feedback about the usefulness of special features to include in a weight loss program that is being delivered through the internet.

Questionnaires will also be completed. Compensation is provided.

The co-principal investigator on this study is Dr. John Yen, Penn State Information Sciences and Technology. This research study, IRB 42770, has been approved by the Institutional Review Board, under federal regulations at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine.
