The first step to obesity prevention is understanding and reducing your risk factors. Whether you’re at risk of becoming obese, currently overweight or at a healthy weight, you can take steps to prevent unhealthy weight gain and related health problems. Not surprisingly, the steps to prevent weight gain are the same as the steps to lose weight: daily exercise, a healthy diet, and a long-term commitment to watch what you eat and drink.
We provide an evidence-based approach to understanding and reducing the incidence rates of childhood obesity. We facilitate proven interventions and capacity building, and offer technical assistance and hands-on project management to overcome obstacles that prevent access to healthy alternatives. We seek to advance policy, environmental and lifestyle changes that promote health through the prevention and reduction of obesity. These efforts ensure coordinated and effective implementations where we learn, work, play and live.
